I'm Amy Lee Lillard, and I help people resist the status quo by making empowered art.

Your voice matters, especially today. With the tools available here, you can tell the stories that matter.

How we got here

I’ve been working in communications for 25 years. Throughout that time, I'd been creating art - books, podcasts, music - on the side. That was my sustenance, and my voice when shit got bad.

But in 2025, burned out and sick of being treated like a number in my corporate job, I'd had enough. I up and quit my day job, a wildly risky move for me. And, besides the occasional panic attack, I felt like I could breathe.

But I was still mad. I was so mad that my company had changed their values and left their employees unprotected to stay out of the crosshairs of the administration. I was enraged that people like me, an autistic, queer woman, and people of all variety, were under attack. I was so sick of bad people running things.

Soon I started thinking about something I've been obsessed with since I was a kid: artists who resist. Creative people using writing, music, performance and visual art to push back against oppression. I started bringing together some of my favorite stories, and finding new ones. And I built the Art of Resistance Podcast.

If you're inspired by these stories and the power of art to resist today's fuckery, and want to make your own art as resistance, Rebel Yell Creative brings together resources, recommended reading, how-tos, and more. All to defy hopelessness and make a better world.

It's time to do the thing. Make the art. And we can do it together!

Things that matter

Writing, music, performance, visual art: It’s all resistance. It’s sustenance. And if we need proof of art’s power, witness how those in power are targeting the arts.

ART

No matter the scale, no matter the volume: when we speak up, when we tell our stories, we become the best versions of ourselves and our society.

VOICES

When we make things accessible to people with different learning, thinking, and behavioral styles, we help EVERYONE.

NEURODIVERSITY

We can and must find joy, even in the face of darkness. Especially in the face of today’s terrors.
