The Art of Resistance Podcast newsletter

Season 1 of the Art of Resistance Podcast is now available to binge! In the next few weeks, you’ll see our first bonus episode, small hits of <10 minutes that feature artists of today using art to resist. And I’m hard at work on Season 2 of the pod!

Meanwhile, this weekly newsletter will tide you over. With inspiration, brain-rest, and historical perspective, you can start the week ready for whatever fuckery comes our way.

Resist like an artist

Performing the Revolution is a limited-series podcast telling the stories of theater as protest and social change. It starts in India following Jana Natya Manch (Janam), a street theatre company that performs for India’s working class, and mobilized massive movements in the 1970s. Then it travels to Palestine, California, and more. Terrific stories of the power of art.

“This is more than a story about the past, or even the present -- it’s an invitation to imagine how theatre and performance can envision a hoped-for collective future. And how it keeps people fighting to make it a reality.”

In last week’s bonus episode we featured Nan Goldin and P.A.I.N. See pictures from their protests at the Guggenheim, the Louvre, and more. And see Nan’s photography!
