TL:DR from the cats: We're awesome and you will now be schooled on why.
Cats are Instagram stars for a reason. They're cute as hell. And they're mean / sassy / obstinate as hell. The combo is a delight, and makes them the perfect mascot for art as resistance.
I'm a confirmed cat lady. I'm the one you knew down the hall or street growing up, the one that was a sort of specter, especially for women: do life right, settle, follow the norm, or you'll end up like her.
And as a childless, single, middle-aged woman surrounded by cats, I gotta tell you: It's the ultimate fucking freedom. It's a creative incubator. It's a glorious reminder of the good and the bad in the world.
So I'm including my cats as part of Rebel Yell Creative. Three reasons:
You will undoubtedly see, hear, or sense their presence in our communications.
Cats love to resist the status quo, and therefore give good inspo and advice.
You need some joy in your scroll.
Here's the crew. And be sure to follow our Insta for anti-advice from them:
From left to right:
Louise: Podcat and old cranky lady.
Hates: Small talk
Loves: When Grindr goes down at Republican conventions
Fun fact: She started a doomsday cult, then ghosted
Secret: She regularly trolls the manosphere
Ziggy: Creative cat and big orange boy
Hates: MAGA 'christians'
Loves: Anarchy (jk, he gets pissed when his routine is altered)
Fun fact: He was Marie Antoinette in a previous life
Secret: He's keeping a list of all who vote for bathroom bills, and will get his revenge
Winona Ryder: Rebel cat and little baby weirdo
Hates: Pro-lifers who don't care about actual kids
Loves: Balls (ping-pong, bouncy, and debutatnte)
Fun fact: She's wanted in Wyoming for fraud
Secret: She's infiltrated ICE to take it down from within
